The banking system has received trillions of dollars worth of help from the U.S. federal government and the Federal Reserve Bank in outright bailouts and cheap loans. This money is printed money, it is not real, but it will have to be re-paid by real labor. The banks are using the crisis that they created as an excuse to evict people from homes and push cuts in fiscal social investment.
